Katie has been instrumental at ELS in the implementation of a new data collection technology and methodology. She conducts wetland delineation and determinations and then completes the associated reports such as critical area reports, single family certifications, wetland delineation reports, and non-wetland determination reports. Katie has also conducted wetland and buffer mitigation plan monitoring. Prior to working for ELS, Katie’s graduate research included investigating invasive species control in wetlands running multiple lab and field experiments concurrently, she worked to manage and restore mitigation wetlands including invasive species control, led up to 10 fellow graduates, undergraduates, and interns in field work, teaching methodology, organizing duties and schedules for timely completion of projects, and she generated maps of field data using ArcGIS. Katie also was able to present her work at conferences and research symposiums.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
When the microwave continues to beep after I’ve opened the door.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
Perfect recall/memory, so I could learn anything/everything.

What is the worst advice you have ever been given?
“Just take a small bite, it’s delicious, I promise…”
