Since becoming an ELS employee in 2018, Beau has worked on multiple wetland delineations, ordinary high water mark delineations, fish removal projects, and mitigation bank monitoring projects. He has prepared various reports such as Critical Areas Determinations, Wetland Delineation reports, Habitat Assessments, and Mitigation Bank Monitoring Reports. Beau has taken several continuing education courses to stay on top of current rules and regulations and he has also become a certified wilderness first responder. Beau has proven to be an effective communicator with our clients, our staff, and the regulatory agencies.
What year did you start working for ELS?
I started on April 30th, 2018, which happens to be National Honesty Day, National Raisin Day, and International Jazz Day… I’ll pass on the raisins.
What is something about yourself that might surprise others?
I have a gap between my big toe and the one next to it that makes it really hard for me to wear flip flops. Seriously, there’s room for another full toe.
What do you like most about working at ELS?
Most certainly being able to work outside at some beautiful places! Unless they have hornet nests… I don’t like those places.
What is a fear you are proud to have overcome?
Heights. I’m still not a fan, but there’s nothing quite like bungee jumping.
If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
Linus Pauling. Anyone who has won two Nobel Prizes could teach this world quite a lot. OR, Ernest Hemmingway. Any man who decided to hunt Nazi U-Boats from his own fishing boat with machine guns and hand grenades sure has some stories to tell!
