Marina Piling Repair

ELS was contracted by the Port of Bremerton to obtain permits for the maintenance and repair at the Bremerton Marina. As part of the permitting process, ELS prepared the environmental permit applications required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), and the City of Bremerton. The proposed maintenance and repair project involved removal of marine growth from pilings, application of a new coating on the pilings, and installation of cathodic protection. A total of 55 steel pilings required maintenance and in some cases repairs. The permits that were successfully obtained include a Nationwide Permit 3 from the Corps, an HPA from WDFW, and a shoreline exemption from the City of Bremerton. A SEPA checklist was completed for the shoreline exemption.
