ELS was contracted by Bainbridge Island Metro Parks and Recreation District (BIMPRD) to conduct a wetland boundary delineation and delineation report at the Sakai Park property, which is in the heart of Bainbridge Island and near a high school.  The property was an old farm property with a regionally important wetland and historical site. BIMPRD was planning to use this property for public use and trails.  Wetlands were delineated and a critical areas report was completed. ELS worked with BIMPRD to determine the best route for trails through the park, as well as identified a path to a viewpoint over Sakai Pond. This project was also important for the Sound to Olympic Trail to cross Bainbridge Island.
