ELS was contracted by the Woodland School District to begin the environmental permitting process for location of a new high school.  ELS completed a wetland delineation on the proposed high school site and wrote the wetland delineation report.  Because wetlands are present on the property and wetland fill would be required to construct the high school, ELS prepared an alternatives analysis for other potential properties that could accommodate a new high school in the Woodland area as would be required by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  ELS researched and conducted preliminary critical areas determinations on seven additional properties ranging from 57 acres to over 200 acres in size in the Woodland area.  In addition, ELS completed a comprehensive plan amendment to rezone the proposed high school location from Light Industrial to Public/Quasi Public/Institutional to allow development of the high school on the property.
