ELS is under contract with the City of Longview to conduct the annual monitoring, maintenance and reporting as required under the USACE and Ecology permit for the remaining year, of the required ten-year monitoring period. Monitoring of the site consists of recording vegetation and hydrology data across 38 established monitoring plot locations to track the success of the three habitat communities created onsite: tree/scrub-shrub, scrub-shrub, and emergent plant communities. After collecting the monitoring plot data, ELS biologists compile the data into an annual report sent out to the jurisdictional agencies. ELS biologists provide guidance on the management of the mitigation area to City staff in an effort to keep the City and the project site in compliance with the wetland permit granted by the USACE and DOE for the development of the Mint Farm Industrial Park.
